Irene Ketikidi

An alumni of London’s prestigious ICMP, Irene Ketikidi rose to fame with her live performance of "Rambler” at Steve Vai’s 2010 Guitar Nation Masterclass in London. Since then, she has released two solo albums, toured internationally and made a name for herself as a fierce lead player and passionate performer. Look no further than her recent viral live show - a true testament to Irene’s raw talent, technical mastery, and most importantly, her ability to form a deep connection with audiences across multiple genres.

Irene’s debut album "Martial Arts and Magic Tricks" in 2013 created an instant buzz and was met with high praise from Guthrie Govan, Greg Howe, Nita Strauss and David Kilminster, allowing her to land her first major opening act slots and receive considerable media attention. She was featured in the iconic Young Guitar Magazine in the "Heroines of Now" column as well as in various webzines including Guitar World, Guitar Interactive and Guitar Girl Magazine.

Her highly anticipated second album "A Sky For All" was released in 2018, reintroducing Irene as a powerful melodic composer, featuring multi-layered soundscapes and an overall prog rock aesthetic. In 2019, Irene opened Nick Johnston’s solo show in Athens and in June of the same year, appeared as a guest in Nita Strauss’s Chance Theater (NY) concert.

As a session musician, she has participated in challenging projects such as Phyllida Lloyd’s ground-breaking “Julius Caesar” in London’s West End, a tribute to Jon Lord’s music produced by the Athens Concert Hall where she performed with the renowned Camerata orchestra (led by award-winning conductor George Petrou), and a performance at the national premiere of Frank Zappa’s documentary film at Gimme Shelter Film Festival.

Late 2023 saw Irene release the progressive metal single “MAGGOTS” and perform with her solo band in a sold-out instrumental guitar event, the Guitar Experience Festival. The live recording of the show became a viral hit within the first week of its upload, now surpassing 1,400,000 views on YouTube.

Irene has since then co-directed and produced the following editions of the Guitar Experience Festival, hosting talented performers and bringing hundreds of guitar fans together. Her unique impact has been a blessing, allowing her to become a trusted ambassador for the guitar community.

In 2026, she delivered a truly spectacular performance as the opening act for Matteo Mancuso’s tour stop in Athens - so much so that the audience actually and overwhelmingly demanded an encore. Building on this momentum, Irene continues to push the boundaries of her art, establishing herself as a genuinely exciting and fresh voice in the guitar scene.
